The primary objective of the Community Outreach Educator is parent education and awareness.
The Community Outreach Educator conducts public education campaigns to increase the amount of children in Chowan and Perquimans Counties covered by health insurance. This will provide services to at-risk families with children birth through age five; parents who are low income, living below the poverty level and children without health insurance coverage will be targeted. Public Outreach print and electronic media educates and promotes awareness of the importance of primary care, well child check-up, age appropriate screenings, and assists parents in their efforts to enroll their children in the Health Check program. Participation in Community Health Fairs and Events, promote education and awareness.
