The Child Care Health Consultant provides information, workshops and technical assistance to child care providers regarding health and safety issues.  They encourage uses of best practices in child care centers and homes, as well as relaying information regarding Health Check which is the free or low cost health insurance.

Our trainings will include and will address the health needs of young children in child care for:

Immunizations          Individual Care Problems             Nutrition

Communicable Disease Prevention              Child Care Sanitation

The Child Care Health Consultant will coordinate trainings and provide the following:

• On site consultation trainings, guidance and technical assistance
• Evaluate and develop health policies and procedures
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Incorporate good health practices
• Connect parents with children to Health Check
• Telephone technical assistance
• Parents One-on One Education

• Trainings:  ITS/SIDS; Medication Administration; Blood-borne Pathogens; OralCare; Keep It Clean; Vaccine Preventable Diseases; Hand Washing & Diapering, and  Sanitation
• On Site Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
• Assistance with health care plans for children with special health needs
• Assistance with actual or possible communicable diseases
• Emergency preparedness
